Adobe: Scanner setup - Canon
Description: This is instructions for setting up Adobe Acrobat to use a connected Canon document scanner.
Steps to install/setup:
- Go to File > Create > PDF from Scanner.
- Select Scanner from the drop down (Canon DR-G1130 TWAIN) - main change depending on the exact model of scanner installed.
- Click the Gear icon next to Default Settings and make the following changes.
- Check Show Scanner’s User Interface.
- Click Scan.
- On the Canon DR-G1130 preference window do the following.
- Basic Tab
- Change Page Size to Match original size.
- Change Scanning Side to Skip blank page.
- Check Automatically straightens skewed.
- Image processing Tab
- Check Punch Hole Removal.
- Click Scan to commit changes (have test paper in the feeder).
- Go to File > Create > PDF from Scanner.
- Click the Gear icon next to Default Settings and make the following changes.
- Uncheck Show Scanner’s User Interface.
- Set Pages to Both Sides.
- Set color mode to Black and White.
- Set Resolution to 300 DPI.
- Set Paper Size to Automatic.
- Uncheck Optimize Image.
- Uncheck Recognize Text (OCR).
- Uncheck Add Metadata.
- Uncheck Make PDF/A-1b compliant.
- Click Scan to commit changes (have test paper in the feeder).
