Adobe: Scanner setup - Canon

Description: This is instructions for setting up Adobe Acrobat to use a connected Canon document scanner.

Steps to install/setup:

Go to File > Create > PDF from Scanner.
Select Scanner from the drop down (Canon DR-G1130 TWAIN) - main change depending on the exact model of scanner installed.
Click the Gear icon next to Default Settings and make the following changes.
Check Show Scanner’s User Interface.
Click Scan.
On the Canon DR-G1130 preference window do the following.
1. Basic Tab
  1. Change Page Size to Match original size.
  2. Change Scanning Side to Skip blank page.
  3. Check Automatically straightens skewed.
2. Image processing Tab
  1. Check Punch Hole Removal.
3. Click Scan to commit changes (have test paper in the feeder).
Go to File > Create > PDF from Scanner.
Click the Gear icon next to Default Settings and make the following changes.
1. Uncheck Show Scanner’s User Interface.
2. Set Pages to Both Sides.
3. Set color mode to Black and White.
4. Set Resolution to 300 DPI.
5. Set Paper Size to Automatic.
6. Uncheck Optimize Image.
7. Uncheck Recognize Text (OCR).
8. Uncheck Add Metadata.
9. Uncheck Make PDF/A-1b compliant.
10. Click Scan to commit changes (have test paper in the feeder).
